challenge

making a house a home

This house has great bones, but the interior space wasn’t ideal for the homeowner’s lifestyle. The existing living area is long and narrow, which makes it difficult for entertaining. However, the desire to entertain and enjoy multiple open-plan living areas, was a top priority for the client. The space also needed to be pet-friendly, maintenance-free and aesthetically appealing.

solution

We strategically placed the homeowner’s artwork in the living areas, to create dynamic focal points to emphasize the hierarchy of the space, for different activities. In addition to artwork, the creative placement of furniture, was also used to visually separate spaces, but not physically divide them. Performance fabrics in neutral colors, were paired with accent fabrics to help bring the space alive, both in color and texture.
